Awesome Gadgets NZ stands behind the quality of every product we sell. All purchases are protected under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA), which ensures you receive goods that are of acceptable quality, fit for purpose, and as described.

This policy explains how warranties, returns, and replacements work when shopping with us.


1. Warranty Coverage

Manufacturer Warranty

  • Most products come with a manufacturer’s warranty, which varies by brand and product type.
  • Warranty periods are listed on each product page.
  • Manufacturer warranties cover defects in materials or workmanship.

What’s Not Covered

  • Damage caused by misuse, accidents, drops, or unauthorised repairs
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Consumables (e.g., batteries, cables) unless faulty on arrival

If a product fails under warranty

We will work with you and the manufacturer to repair, replace, or refund the item in line with the CGA.


2. Returns & Refunds

2.1 Faulty or Defective Products

If your item is faulty, not working as expected, or arrives damaged:

  • Contact us within 14 days of receiving the item
  • Provide your order number and a description of the issue
  • Photos or videos help speed up assessment

Depending on the issue, we will:

  • Repair the item
  • Replace it with a new one
  • Provide a refund if repair or replacement is not reasonable

This is your right under the Consumer Guarantees Act.


2.2 Change of Mind Returns

To keep prices low, we do not offer refunds for change of mind.
However, we may offer:

  • Store credit
  • Exchange (if the product is unopened and in resale condition)

This is assessed case‑by‑case.


2.3 Incorrect or Missing Items

If you receive the wrong item or something is missing:

  • Contact us within 7 days
  • We will correct the order at no cost to you

3. Return Process

Step 1 — Contact Us

Include:

  • Order number
  • Description of the issue
  • Photos/videos if applicable

Step 2 — Return Approval

We will confirm whether the item needs to be returned and provide a return address.

Step 3 — Inspection

Once received, our team will inspect the item within 3–5 business days.

Step 4 — Outcome

We will repair, replace, or refund according to the CGA and warranty terms.


4. Shipping Costs

Faulty Items

  • Return shipping is covered by us.

Change of Mind or Incorrect Customer Order

  • Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility.

5. Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA)

Your rights under the CGA apply in addition to this policy.
If a product is faulty, you are entitled to a remedy — repair, replacement, or refund — depending on the severity of the issue.
