It normally comes as a frustration to the better most of us. When we ask ourselves why is my smartwatch not charging anymore?. Sometimes it happens when you have just recently received your Smart Watches NZ watch. Sometimes its after at least a year of usage. All the same, it is normally any issue which can be resolved with ease.
If your watch isn’t charging, the first thing to check is that the charging cable head is correctly positioned to the charging pins of the watch. The pins on the USB charger should be aligned with the pins on the watch the correct way.
If your watch still does not charge, please unplug the USB cable from the charger, and reconnect it again. Then check the following:
If the charging indicator (lightning bolt) is not visible, the charger does not detect the watch.
Smartwatch Charging Techniques
- Try the following tips.
- Re-seat the watch with the charge head
- Make sure the charger pins align with the watch case back grooves.
- Verify smart watch is seated snugly on charger with no gap.
- Verify nothing is between charger and device, i.e. no dust, tape, etc.
- Make sure the charger is getting power.
- Try changing the charger power source, i.e. move to wall outlet from laptop or vice versa.
Sometimes if the device gets too hot while charging, it will go into a thermal shutdown mode until it cools off and then, will continue charging once it is safe again. Try removing the smart watch from the charger, wait for it to cool down, and place it on the charger again.
If your watch won’t turn on, it may be because its battery has been drained for an extended period. Allow your watch to charge for up to 15 minutes, it will turn on automatically once it has enough power.

More often than not, issue develops with the charging cable . Our experience from other customers have revealed the following common issues with the charger cable.
